Editors Comments:
I’ve been using the Ultra-light (UL) series of Synmats and Downmats since they were brought out a couple of years ago, and I still use them as my first choice today. The Hyperlite and its lower minimum temperature brother ‘Winterlite’, build on the UL series technology and evolve the concept for light weight comfortable sleeping mats.
The Hyperlite is aimed at the three season camper, adventure racer, trekker or traveller, where as the Winterlite is for all year round use including sleeping on snow. They are both the same price, so the choice is down to weight savings vs. extra warmth. If you are planning expeditions in exceptionally cold conditions, the UL Downmat is still available.
