Editor’s Comments.
On our office scales, the MSR Elixir 2 with everything including the free MSR footprint (189g), weighed in at 2595 grams. Split that between two people and you have an all singing and dancing backpacking tent with footprint at only 1.3kg per person.
In the same way that cutting edge technology filters down from Formula One racing to the family saloon car, improvements in tent design and material technologies filter down from yesterday’s premium £500 plus tents to today’s mid-market range. Great value from a quality brand.

In addition, we have had great feedback on the Elixir’s robustness and wind resistance due to its crossover pole design.
