The 2022 version of the MSR Freelite 2  is 300 grams lighter than the previous version with a super liveable semi-freestanding design for light weight backpacking & trekking.

The Freelite 2 will lighten your pack without sacrificing liveable tent space with the ultralight, semi-freestanding designed for people who want to make the most of their three-season adventures without being weighed down by their packs.

The Inside: 226 g lighter than the previous FreeLite, it still has the true rectangular floor (no foot end taper like most other tents) and a full one metre head height.

The micromesh tent inner provides excellent ventilation and has a fully waterproof bathtub-style floor.

Two ‘no-curve’ tent doors keep give each person their own access so no one has to crawl over the other to get out of the tent.  That’s especially convenient if one person need to get out of the tent while the other is asleep.

The new zips are more durable and easy to use with one hand. They also zip closed to a single point so you always know where to open the door, even in the dark.

New tech-friendly pockets feature cable ports at the corners for headphone and charging cords. Overhead gear loft pockets are perfect for headlamps, sunglasses and other quick-access items.

The Outside: The FreeLite’s semi-freestanding design is easy and quick to set up. Super strong DAC NFL tent poles, a DuraShield™ waterproof coating and taped seams keep the weather where it belongs—outside.

The cutaway rainfly saves weight and features large vestibules for storing any gear you don’t want in the sleeping area. Easy in-and-out vestibule doors have StayDry™ rain gutters to keep water from dripping onto you and your gear.

MSR Extended Warranty
MSR tents have a manufacturer’s warranty which covers them for faults in materials and workmanship for three years but doesn’t cover normal wear and tear.  If you ever have an issue with your MSR tent bought from EMS just let us know and we’ll fast track your warranty enquiry so it’s resolved quickly and without fuss, even if you are mid expedition on the other side of the world.
