The MSR Hubba Hubba™ Bikepack 1-Person is a one person lightweight tent with a stable handlebar bag for cycle touring.
Designed for the adventurous cyclist whether they ride dirt or pavement, the new Hubba Hubba Bikepack 1-person tent has been meticulously designed for life on two wheels. Thoughtful features that all cyclists will appreciate married with spacious performance make this tent best-in-class.
The Inside: The rectangular floor has no taper from head end to foot, so it can accommodate large rectangular sleeping mats.
The head height is 97cm to allow you to sit up comfortably.
The tent body is a blend of mesh and solid fabric that provides airflow, privacy and weather protection. The no-curve tent door feature zippers that are easy to use with one hand. It also zips closed to a single point, so you always know where to open the door, even in the dark.
Tech-friendly pockets feature cable ports at the corners for charging cords, and large overhead gear loft pockets are perfect for gloves, sunglasses and other quick-access items.
An interior clothesline and optional but included exterior clothesline provide ample space to hang damp gear.
The Outside: The rectangular tent design means you can set up the Hubba in a flash, which is particularly useful in those unexpected rainstorms.
The strong, lightweight DAC poles are sized to fit perfectly on your handlebars when packed. These shorter poles are also good for kayak campers who want to fit a tent more easily in their boat storage.
A waterproof coating and taped seams keep the Hubba stable and dry, so you can ride out bad weather in comfort.
The stealth-green rain fly features an extra-large vestibule for storing any cycling gear you don’t want inside.
The easy in-and-out vestibule door has a StayDry™ rain gutter to keep dripping water off you and your gear, and a kickstand vent maximizes airflow.
The Handlebar Bag: The meticulously designed waterproof handlebar storage bag fits on any bike, whether it has flat or drop bars. Included optional spacers hold the bag away from the bars so it doesn’t eat up valuable real estate for other items. The bag also has reflective hits for increased visibility on the road, and loops to tie on additional gear. Its small, packed size also means you can easily fit it in panniers, a frame bag or a backpack.
The Bottom Line: With excellent on-bike stability and feature-rich camp comfort, the Hubba Hubba Bikepack tent will quickly become your new favourite home-away-from home.

Editor’s Comments (Bikepack 2 person).
You might have noticed that the pack is mounted on the front of the handlebars in the MSR photos, but on top of the bars in the EMS photo. The top mounted position was an experiment. If you have a road bike or gravel bike without a nest of cables in the cockpit, then the front position probably works the best, but we preferred the top mounted position on the Specialized Levo Turbo. There’s a certain amount of flexibility in the pack design, so there’s the potential to mount it in a way that best suits the bike. The short folded poles makes packing the tent in your existing panniers and packs much easier too.
The other standout features of the MSR Bikepack were the internal space and storage. As with the regular Hubba Hubba NX tent the floor plan is rectangular and not tapered, there’s good head height but also head width, so the overall feel is spacious and airy. The wall pockets and overhead ‘gear hammock’ made it easy to organise and dry out damp kit.
I recommend using the Universal Footprint (sold separately) to protect the floor of the tent. As ultra lightweight tent materials become ever thinner, the need for a footprint increases, not only to protect from abrasion on stone and gravel, but also to reduce penetration from thistles and other spiky vegetation.
